About the Speakers:

Mufti Abdullah Nana, Islamic Finance Scholar

Mufti Nana graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley and later traveled to Islamic University in South Africa, where he studied for seven years. He also completed his post-graduate studies while specializing in Islamic Jurisprudence and obtaining authorization from his teachers to issue legal opinions, or fatwa, thus earning the title of a ‘Mufti.’ He currently serves as an Imam at the Islamic Center of Mill Valley, California. Besides being very active in his local community, Mufti Abdullah serves on the UIF Sharia Advisory Board. He also teaches Arabic and Islamic sciences at a Full Time school in San Francisco.

Ali Hassan, Hedge Fund Manager & Crypto Specialist

Ali Hassan is a founding partner at Perceptive Capital. He began his career as an investment analyst at Goldman Sachs where he traded equities and options. Most recently Ali founded and successfully exited Crescent Crypto Asset Management, a cryptocurrency investment management firm. Prior to that, Ali was on the investment team at Fairview Capital Partners, where he authored a thematic research report titled “The Rise of Blockchain” in 2016.
